What a beautiful day it was today! It's hard to imagine that there is supposed to be rain this week, and a good deal of it. I should be outside enjoying the sun while it's shining, but there is always cleaning and organizing to do. There is a Scout Jamboree this weekend, so without as many men to worry about, Megan and I have plans to work on organizing the garage - something that will certainly take more than one week to accomplish! What we really want to do is lounge about, but if we stay away from stores, we should get a good deal of work done while the boys are away. Maybe I'll drag myself out in the afternoon. I heard that a great white shark was spotted in La Jolla Cove last week...probably coming to pay a visit to those harbor seals that took over the Children's Cove. That would be interesting to see, as long as it wasn't while you were taking your morning constitutional!
I have been busy working on cards for a kit for Pinecone Press from Stella and Rose, the Mabel 6"X6" pad of papers by My Mind's Eye. I love the warm tones!
Card One-
I loved using my new Tonic paper cutter to do the scoring for the fan folding on the flower - the 1/4" grid made it super easy to score! And I love this font!
Card Two -
It took 2 - 3/4" X 6" strips to make the flower, which started as a triangle on the end and then was randomly folded, showing the reverse side as you go. On the inside it reads: And another great year!
Card 3 -
There's more of those dozens of little flowers I bought that I was afraid I wouldn't get enough of...still wish I would have bought more! Isn't it wonderful that three little flowers can have such impact?
Card Four -
When you are working with a small pad of paper, you need to commit to using ALL the pieces...even the little one. For using this kind of project, I rely on a square punch for perfect sizing. If you get just a hair off, they won't line up. Plus, you can choose what part of the paper you want to use.
I find myself needing "Miss You" cards quite often! The orange background on the sentiment is a paper punch from EK Success.
Card Five -
When you are making so many cards, it's hard to make them all different when you are limiting yourself to kit basics. But this simple bird makes me happy!
I have a few more cards to share. I'll do that tomorrow. I feel a song coming on - #229 in the Hymn Book (Mormon) "Today, while the sun shines, work with a will...
See you tomorrow!
